The Promised
Savior Came

Matthew 1:22-23
All
this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
"The
virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call
him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."

On
December 25th, do you know what day it is? Yes, it is Christmas Day.
Christmas
Day is the day that we celebrate Jesus coming to the earth to save us.
4
Jesus
coming to this earth had been promised a very long time ago.
In
the beginning, Adam and Eve whom God had created lived in the beautiful
garden, Eden.
Indeed,
they lived happily with God.
5
But
Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that God told them
not to eat by the temptation of the serpent. Eve also gave the fruit to her
husband, Adam. So sin came on the earth.
6
Finally,
they were driven out from the garden of Eden and fell into the miserable
situation that they could not meet God again. But God made a promise with
Adam and Eve.
7
Let's
read Genesis 3:15, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and
between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike
his heel."
8
"Your
offspring" means Jesus' coming.
God
saw that we were in sorrow by sin and promised to save us from that sin.
So
Jesus was born on Christmas Day.
9
God's
promise that would send us Jesus was told through many prophets.
700
years ago, Isaiah had lived before Jesus came.
10
Isaiah
said, "Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will
be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."
11
700
years ago, Isaiah said that Jesus would come to the earth through the virgin
Mary.
12
Surprisingly,
according to the prophecies of the Bible, God's angel appeared to Mary who
was not married and said that she would bear a child. It was a miracle.
13
Also,
the Bible correctly said where Jesus was born through the prophecies of
Micah.
14
"But
you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out
of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are
from of old, from ancient times."
15
This
word that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem was fulfilled.
16
When
Mary came time to have a baby, the emperor of Rome, Caesar ordered everyone
to go down to their hometown to register their name.
So
Joseph went down to his hometown named Bethlehem.
17
There
was no room to stay, so they had a baby in the barn as this word said.
18
Jesus
coming to this earth kept the promise that God could meet us who all fell
into a disastrous situation.
19
Jesus
coming to this earth through the virgin Mary died on the cross instead of us.
We
can go to the kingdom of heaven that God permits by believing in Jesus.
20
Therefore,
Christmas Day should be a time full of gladness and joy because God's promise
of saving us from our sin came true. We should give thanks and lift Jesus up
who came to this earth from heaven in human flesh to save us.
